Apportionment Information window (1065)

Show all hidden content
Use the
Apportionment Information
window to enter apportionment data in one place for all states. UltraTax CS uses the information entered in this window to complete the apportionment factor for income subject to apportionment. In general, business income is apportioned and non-business income is allocated. State law determines the type of income that is apportioned.
To open the
Apportionment Information
window, select
View
, then
Apportionment
with a 1065 client open. Note that you'll need to have a state return attached to this client to open the
Apportionment Information
window.

Components of this window

note
  • You can override the amount in the
    Everywhere / (Override)
column for all states or on a state-by-state basis.
  • Some fields in the
    Apportionment Information
spreadsheet and state tabs have statements where you can enter detailed information for this factor's component. UltraTax CS uses the information you enter in the
    Everywhere
column in the statement as the everywhere amount for that component. UltraTax CS ignores the amount in the
    Everywhere / (Override)
    column in the
    Apportionment Information
    spreadsheet for that component.
  • With detailed asset data entry, you can classify assets for the property factor and automatically transfer the end-of-year amounts to the corresponding fields in the
    Property
    tab.
  • With the
    Excel Export / Import
tool, you can import and export apportionment information to and from UltraTax/1065 and a Microsoft Excel Workbook.
  • Because calculations on state apportionment forms and schedules require gross sales, the cost of property, and amount of payroll expenses, only amounts greater than zero can be entered in the apportionment grid.
  • You can import data from an Excel spreadsheet or the Windows Clipboard into a statement.
