Use this dialog to renumber partners when you enter custom partner numbers in the Partner Information window in Partner Data Entry. Choose Setup and then Custom Partner Numbers to enable the
Partner #
field in the Partner tab in the Partner Information window.To open the Renumber Partners dialog, choose Tasks and then Renumber Partners.

Partner number range fields
To specify the range of partners that you want to renumber, select the starting and ending partner numbers from the drop-down lists. If you want to renumber only one partner, select the same partner number in both the start and end range fields.
New numbers group box
Beginning number
Enter the new beginning partner number for the first partner number selected in the partner number range fields. You can enter up to five alphanumeric characters (0-9 and A-Z) and special characters (-, &, /, etc.) in the partner number fields.
Increment by
Enter a whole number value between 1 and 99999 to specify how many numbers separate each renumbered account.
note
- Each new partner number that you assign must be unique, without overlapping existing partner numbers, and there must be sufficient space to accommodate the new partner numbers.
- If the partner number includes both alpha and numeric characters, UltraTax CS increments only the numeric characters to the right of the alpha characters.
Example:
Assume that you want to renumber partner numbers 1-10, with new starting partner number 10000 and to increment each partner number by 5. Enter 1 in the first partner number range field, and enter 10 in the second field. Next, enter 10000 as the new beginning partner number in the Beginning number
field. Enter 5 in the Increment by
field. UltraTax CS automatically numbers the partners 10000, 10005, 10010, etc. through 10045. If partner number 10045 previously existed, UltraTax CS cancels the process, and the partner numbers remain at 1-10.
