Partner Data Entry > New Jersey tab

Use the state tabs in the Partner Information window in Partner Data Entry to enter state-specific information for partners. State tabs appear only if you have added states to the return.
To update a partner's state-specific information, select that partner in the Partner Information window, then select the appropriate state tab.

New Jersey information group box
Date partner's interest in partnership began
Enter the date on which the partner's interest in the partnership began. UltraTax CS uses this information to complete the partner information on Schedule NJK-1.
Part Year NJ Resident
Mark this checkbox if the partner is a part year resident of New Jersey.
note
  • Part-year residency status applies only to individual partners.
  • If you leave this field blank, UltraTax CS assumes the partner was a full-year resident or full-year nonresident of New Jersey, depending on the information entered in the
    Resident State
     field in the Partner tab.
Maintains regular place of business in NJ
Mark this checkbox if the partner maintains a regular place of business in New Jersey. This field is available only if the partner is a nonresident corporation, partnership, exempt organization, LLC, disregarded entity, or IRA.
Address of one such place
If the partner maintains a regular place of business in New Jersey, enter the address of one such place in the fields provided.
note
If you leave these fields blank, Form NJ 1065E defaults to the partner mailing address if the address is in New Jersey.
Exempt partner
If the partner is exempt from taxation, enter the appropriate code or choose from the drop-down list. Enter

 if the partner is exempt from tax under the Corporation Business Tax Act. Enter

 if the partner is exempt under IRC 501 (c)(3). Enter
3
 if the partner is exempt as a retirement plan that the IRS approved. This field is available only if the partner is a nonresident corporation, exempt organization, or IRA.
No physical nexus with New Jersey
Mark this checkbox if the partner has no physical nexus with the state of New Jersey.
Date SSN/EIN applied for
Enter the date the SSN or EIN was applied for.
Composite information group box
Composite filer
Mark this checkbox to include the partner in the composite return filing.
