Overview

Use the
Document Editing
window to create and modify all client documents including cover letters, email greetings, and custom paragraphs.

Organizer Options

Due date to return completed Organizer
The Business Organizer cover letter includes this date. If this field is blank, the Business Organizer cover letter uses the date entered for all clients in the

Include detail in electronic Organizer: Partner information
Mark this checkbox to include an Excel spreadsheet containing partner information (such as the partners’ names, SSN/EINs, and addresses) from the
Partner Information
window in
Partner Data Entry
in the Business Organizer when using an electronic version of the Business Organizer (when delivery method used is Email PDF, PDF to file, or Web).
To include partner detail information in the electronic Business Organizer for all new clients, mark the
Include detail in Organizer: Partner information (Screen OrgOptns)
checkbox in the
New Client Options
group box of the
Organizer
tab in the
1065 Product Information
window. To open this window, select
Setup
,
1065 Partnership
, and select the
Organizer
tab.
Include detail in electronic Organizer: Changes of ownership
Mark this checkbox to include an Excel spreadsheet containing a template for entering changes in partners’ ownership when using an electronic version of the Business Organizer (when delivery method used is Email PDF, PDF to file, or Web).
To include the changes of ownership template in the electronic Business Organizer for all new clients, mark the
Include detail in Organizer: Changes of ownership (Screen OrgOptns)
checkbox in the
New Client Options
group box of the
Organizer
tab in the
1065 Product Information
window. To open this window, select
Setup
,
1065 Partnership
, and select the
Organizer
tab.
Organizer delivery method used
This field is for informational purposes only. The field shows what delivery method was last used for the Business Organizer in
File
, then
Print Organizers
. The last used method also shows in the client's Organizer Delivery column in the
Setup
, then
Client Communications
window.

  • To assign a different delivery method to a batch of clients, select
    Utilities
    , then
    Reassign Clients
    .
  • To set this option on a client-by-client basis, or to override this option for a client, select an option from the dropdown list in the client's
    Organizer Delivery
    column in the
    Setup
    , then
    Client Communications
    window.
  • Clients with
    None
    selected as a method in the
    Organizer Delivery
    field aren't shown in the
    Select Clients to Print
    window when printing organizers.

Cover Letter and Questionnaire

Custom Organizer Cover Letter number
If you make an entry in this field, the cover letter you indicate prints instead of the default 1065 partnership cover letter.

  • This field is available only after you've created a custom cover letter. Use the

    window to create and modify all client documents including cover letters, email greetings, and custom paragraphs.

Custom Organizer Questionnaire number
If you make an entry in this field, the questionnaire you indicate prints instead of the default 1065 partnership questionnaire.

    window to create and modify all questionnaires.

Custom paragraphs: Number
Enter the number that corresponds to the paragraph you inserted in the Cover Letter. In addition to letting you create new custom paragraphs, the application comes with predefined paragraphs that you can use as they are or customize for your specific needs.

Miscellaneous Variables

Miscellaneous text variable
Enter the text for the miscellaneous variables in these fields. Use these variables in the Business Organizer Cover Letter when the application doesn't provide the variable you need.
