Pass-through income on Schedule A: 1065 New Jersey (NJ)

If there is income from K-1 passthrough activities on the return, the amounts on NJ 1065 page 1 may not correspond to the items on Schedule K of the federal return. This is because, per the instructions, if K-1 passthrough items are present, Schedule A must be completed first. Federal K-1 amounts automatically transfer to the top portion of Schedule A. Enter the NJ amounts on the
NJSchA
screen to see NJ amounts to transfer to NJ 1065 page 1. From there, where the amounts transfer to the income from the tiered partnership fields and any tax to the Part100.
See the Schedule A instructions to find out which lines from the K-1 you received should be entered in the statement on the
NJSchA
screen to fill NJ1065 Columns A, B, and C.
