Suppress Virginia electronic file when filing federal return electronically

to suppress the Virginia electronic file when filing the federal return electronically. The Virginia electronic file can also be suppressed in the ELF federal screen. Suppress the Virginia return in the ELF federal screen if there are multiple states attached that accept electronic returns and UltraTax CS shouldn't create any state electronic files. If no state electronic files should be created for any client, there is a global federal setting for new clients available in the New Client window. Select Setup

If this field is blank, UltraTax CS uses the signature date of partner signing the return in the ELF federal screen for Form VA-8453P/VA-8879P and as the date signed in the Virginia electronic file. Enter a date in this field if the federal return isn't being filed electronically or the Virginia signature date is different than the federal.

If this field is blank, UltraTax CS uses the Virginia signature date of partner signing the return for Form VA-8453P/VA-8879P, if it exists. Otherwise, UltraTax CS uses the signature date of the ERO or partner signing the return in the ELF federal screen. Enter a date in this field if the federal return isn't being filed electronically or the Virginia signature date is different than the default.

UltraTax CS defaults the business representative to the name of person signing returns on Form 502. Use this section if the federal return isn't being filed electronically or if the Virginia business representative is different. Virginia requires both a first and last name.
Electronic Funds Withdrawal Information
Electronic funds withdrawal for balance due returns: Form 502: Date of automatic withdrawal
Enter a date earlier than the due date of the Virginia Form 502 to authorize automatic funds withdrawal for payment of a balance due return.
Personal Identification Number (PIN) Information
Use this section if you're using the Practitioner PIN option to sign the return electronically. This will generate Form VA-8879P. Leave this section blank if UltraTax CS should generate Form VA-8453P.
Taxpayer PIN
Enter the taxpayer’s self-selected PIN. Enter any 5 digits (except 00000). If all fields in this section are blank, UltraTax CS will use the Taxpayer PIN entered in the ELF federal screen.
ERO PIN
Enter the preparer PIN, which is a self-selected set of 5 digits (except 00000). The actual Electronic Return Originator (ERO) PIN is an 11-digit number. UltraTax CS uses the 6-digit IRS assigned Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN) and the 5-digit self-selected PIN to determine the ERO PIN. If all fields in this section are blank, UltraTax CS uses the ERO PIN entered in the ELF federal screen.
