F1120F-084-04 e-file error
If Form 1120-F, Line 5i 'IncomeTaxPaidOrWithheldAmt' has a non-zero value and is greater than the amount on Section I, Line 12 'TotIncomeTaxPaidOrWithheldAmt', then Form 8288-A or Form 8805 must be attached to Line 5i.
This error happens when an amount is reported on Form 1120-F, line 5i, then Form 8288-A and/or Form 8805 must be attached as a PDF file.
Solution
- Open theEditmenu and selectElectronic Filing Attachments.
- If you've already attached Form 8288-A and/or Form 8805:
- Select theEditbutton.
- Check that you've selectedForm 1120F, Withholding Taxesin theReturnfield.
- If you have not yet attached Form 8288-A and/or Form 8805:
- Select theAddbutton.
- SelectForm 1120F, Withholding Taxesin theReturnfield.
- Attach Form 8288-A and/or Form 8805.
- Recreate and retransmit the e-file.
