F1120S-238-02 e-file error
If Form 1120S, Item G, has a choice of "Yes" indicated and binary attachment with Description "Form 2553" is present in the return, then Item A, "S election effective date", must equal or precede the 'TaxPeriodBeginDt' in the Return Header. (rule F1120S-238-02).
This error happens when the S election effective date is either missing or is after the tax period begin date, which is inaccurate.
Solution
- Open theGeneral inputfolder.
- Select the1120screen.
- Complete theS election effective datefield. This is a required entry.noteIf you're filing Form 2553, this date must either be the same as or prior to theTax year beginningfield.
