F5471-071-01 e-file error

Form 5471 'EmployerEIN' or 'ForeignEntityReferenceIdNum' must have a value.
This error happens when an EIN is missing from the return.

Solution

  1. Go to the
    5471 input
     folder.
  2. Open the
    5471
     screen.
  3. Complete either the
    Employer identification number
    (EIN) field or
    Reference ID number
     field.
    note
    If you are using
    ForeignUS
     or
    Applied For
     as the
    Employer Identification Number
     (EIN), you must also provide a
    Reference ID number
    , which is a self-selected number.
