1120 E-file errors

F5472-001 e-file error

If Form 5472 'ShareholderName' in 'Direct25PctFrgnShareholderInfo' has an entry, then the corresponding 'SSN' or 'EIN', or 'ForeignEntityReferenceIdNum' must have a value.
This error happens when a shareholder is missing an SSN, EIN, or ID number.

Solution

  1. Go to the
    5472 input
     folder.
  2. Open the
    5472
     screen.
  3. Go to the
    Foreign Shareholder Information
     section and enter an
    SSN/EIN
    ,
    Applied For
    , or
    ForeignUS
     under the
    Identifying Number
     column for each foreign shareholder entered in the
    Direct 25% foreign shareholder information
     and the
    Indirect 25% foreign shareholder information
     statement dialogs.
    note
    If you are using
    Applied For
     or
    ForeignUS
     in place of an SSN or EIN, enter a Reference ID Number in the
    Reference ID Number
     column.
