R0000-900-01 e-file error
Database Validation Error: /Return/ReturnHeader/ReturnTypeCd: The return type indicated in the return header must match the return type established with the IRS for the EIN. (value xxxx, rule R0000-900-01)
You get this rejection when the type of return doesn't match what the IRS has on file for the EIN.
Solution
- While you're in the client file, go to File and select Client Properties.
- Check theEINfield to make sure it's correct.
- If there is a typo or incorrect information, correct it. Then re-create and retransmit the e-file.noteIf this is a Consolidated Client, select all clients within the Consolidation at the same time when creating the e-file.
- If the EIN and return type are correct, either file the return on paper or call the IRS e-help Desk at 866-255-0654.
