Use detailed asset data entry for apportionment

Follow these steps to use detailed asset data entry on the
Property factor
tab in the
Apportionment Information
window.
  1. Select
    View
    , then
    Apportionment
    .
  2. Select
    Apportionment
    and mark
    Use Asset Detail
    .
  3. UltraTax CS makes this option available by default. This option isn't available if you're using summary asset data entry.
    note
    • When you mark
      Use Asset Detail
      , information transferred from the
      Asset Detail
window to a field in the
      Property
tab is read-only, unless you attach a statement window.
    • Clear the
      Use Asset Detail
checkbox to manually enter property factor information.
    • You can transfer the year-end cost and accumulated depreciation to the corresponding fields for the following property factor components:
      • Buildings
      • Leasehold improvements
      • Machinery
      • Equipment
      • Transportation or delivery equipment
      • Furniture and fixtures
      • Construction in progress
      • Other tangible assets
      • Depletable assets
      • Other property or assets
      • Land
    • If the Book column includes data, UltraTax CS will transfer those amounts. If there's no data in the Book column, amounts from the Tax column transfer to the
      Property
      tab.
    • UltraTax CS doesn't transfer the information entered in the
      Asset Detail
window to the state tabs or to statement windows.
