Calculate Section 199A W-2 wages

W-2 wages in the
Inc
 window sometimes don't calculate, even if the information is in the officer's compensation fields. Check the following to troubleshoot the problem:
  1. Go to the
    Inc
     window in the
    Income & Deductions
     folder, check the
    Qualifies as trade or business for Section 199A
     field. If there are multiple QBI units and more than 1 unit includes
    1
    , UltraTax CS won't calculate Section 199A W-2 wages. The application can't determine which activity to apply them to.
  2. Use the
    W-2 wages (Force)
     field for the unit to report the wages.
  3. If there is only 1 QBI unit for this screen, be sure
    1
     is in the
    Qualifies as trade or business for Section 199A
     field.
  4. Be sure the
    W-2 wages (Force)
     field is blank.
