Net Operating Loss Carryover (NOL)

Prior Year (Income Offset) NOL Utilized
The application adds the amount in this field to the income or loss reflected in the
Income (Loss)
fields to determine the amount available for carryover. Use the statement to enter the following:
  • The year in which the taxable income was generated.
  • The amount of net operating loss utilized to offset the income. Enter as a positive number.
For example, a $10,000 NOL generates in the 5th preceding taxable year. Of the NOL, $2,000 is utilized in the fourth preceding taxable year, $3,000 is utilized in the third preceding taxable year, and $4,000 is utilized in the second preceding taxable year. The input screen fields should appear as shown in the following table.

Charitable Contributions Carryover

Excess Contributions
Enter as a positive number the amount of contributions disallowed as a deduction due to the Arkansas taxable income limitation. Enter this amount for each of the 5 prior taxable years. The amount entered here should be equal to the total contributions disallowed. The AR Contribution Carryover Worksheet displays the calculation of the current year carryover amount and can be used as a guideline in calculating the prior year excess contributions.
Prior Year Utilization
Enter as a positive number the amount of excess contributions for each year that has been utilized and is no longer available as a deduction. This amount is subtracted from the amount in the
Excess Contributions
field to determine the carryover available to the current year.
Contributions adjustment for multi-state corporation (Force)
To change the calculated adjustment for the contribution adjustment on Form AR1100CT, Schedule A, when filing status 2, enter an amount in this field. To delete this item from the printed statement, enter 0. If 0 is entered, the application doesn't include the item in the printed statement or in the amount displayed on the form.
