E-file the 1120 California extension

To file the California extension electronically, complete the following steps.
  1. Complete the data entry to calculate the extension payment on Form 3539 for Form 100, 100S, or 100W. For a combined reporting group, complete the data entry in the combined or QSub client.
  2. Go to the federal ELF screen and mark the
    File this return electronically
     field.
  3. If you're only filing California electronically, also mark the
    Suppress the creation of: Federal electronic file when only filing a state return or extension electronically
     field.
  4. Go to the California ELF screen.
  5. Enter the payment date in
    Electronic funds withdrawal for extension: Requested payment date
     field in the
    Extension Information
     section.
    UltraTax CS uses the amount of payment on Form 3539 (100).
  6. Select
    File
     then
    Print Extensions
    .
  7. Mark the
    Create electronic file
     checkbox along with any other necessary checkboxes.
  8. Print the extensions to generate the electronic file.
  9. Follow the normal procedures to send the returns electronically via CS Connect. In CS Connect, you will have a file that indicates 1120 CA EXT.
