Overview

Use this screen to enter electronic filing information for the return.

General Information

Suppress New York electronic file(s) when filing federal return or extension electronically
If this field is marked, the application creates the federal electronic file only, and suppresses all the New York electronic files.
Suppress franchise tax return and extension electronic files when only filing other returns electronically
If this field is marked and estimates are marked to be filed electronically, the application creates the IT-204-LL, CT-300 and estimate electronic files only, and suppresses the New York electronic file(s) for the franchise tax return and extension.
Form TR-579-CT has already been signed and returned
If Form TR-579-CT has already been signed by an authorized officer of the corporation and returned to the firm, select this field. If the option in Setup, Office Configuration, Print Options then Always print Form 8879 (etc.), regardless of signature status is unmarked and Form TR-579-CT has already been signed, Form TR-579-CT won’t print when the tax return is printed. If this field is marked, the filing instructions will indicate that there is no further action necessary. If this field is not marked, the filing instructions will indicate that Form TR-579-CT must be signed before the return can be filed electronically.
Signature date, if different from federal Screen ELF
Enter the date Form TR-579-CT was signed by an officer of the corporation. If this field is blank, the application defaults to the

 field in federal Screen ELF, or the option selected in Setup, Office Configuration then Print Options,
When Form 8879 (etc.) signature date(s) (Preparer and/or Client) are not entered
 checkbox.
ERO signature date, if different from return signature date or federal ERO signature date
Enter the date Form TR-579-CT was signed by the electronic return originator (ERO). If this field is blank, the application defaults to the date entered in the
Signature date
 field. If both fields are blank, the application will default to the
ERO signature date
 field in federal Screen ELF, or the option selected in Setup, Office Configuration then Print Options,
When Form 8879 (etc.) signature date(s) (Preparer and/or Client) are not entered
 checkbox.
Requested payment date
Enter the required information in this field to generate the electronic funds withdrawal (direct debit) payment in the 1120 New York electronic return file. Use this field to generate the New York electronic funds withdrawal for balance due franchise tax returns only. If this field is blank, an electronic funds withdrawal is not generated.
note
In addition to entering the requested payment date, you must also enter bank account information in either federal Screen Bank or in Screen NYBank.

Short year return, if different from federal tax year
If the federal return is not a short year return, enter

to indicate the New York return is a short year return. The federal return must be attached to the electronic file as a PDF in Edit then Electronic Filing Attachments.
Member of federal consolidated group filing separate return
If the client is a member of a federal consolidated return and won’t be included in a New York combined return, enter
X
to indicate the member is filing Form CT-3. The federal return must be attached to the electronic file as a PDF in Edit then Electronic Filing Attachments.
New York members different from federal consolidated members
Enter

 if the client is a member of a federal consolidated return but will be included in a New York combined return with different members than the federal consolidated client. The federal return must be attached to the electronic file as a PDF in Edit then Electronic Filing Attachments.
Alternate federal return required
Enter
X
 to prevent the application from automatically attaching the federal return to the New York electronic file. If this field is marked, an alternate federal return or equivalent must be attached to the electronic file as a PDF in Edit then Electronic Filing Attachments.

Self-Filer Declaration and Signature: I have read the certification earlier and agree.
If the return is being filed by a non-paid preparer, enter

to indicate the self-filer has read and agrees to the return certification.
