Enter an apportionment

  1. Open an 1120 client.
  2. Select
    View
    , then
    Apportionment
    .
    note
You'll need a state return attached to the client to open this window.
  3. Select the
    Ohio
    tab.
  4. Select
    Cities
    .
    note
You'll need a city or other return attached to the client to open this window.
  5. Enter the amounts as needed.
    note
    • If you don't enter any amounts for apportionment in the
      Apportionment
window, the application assumes the client does 100 percent of business within the city as long as only 1 city is attached to the return. If you add more than 1 city, the application assumes the client does 0 percent of business within those returns until you make apportionment entries.
    • Enter everywhere amounts for an Ohio city return that's 100 percent in-state in the city's respective state column of the main apportionment spreadsheet. You need to do this even if you aren't apportioning the state since the city columns aren't part of the main apportionment spreadsheet. If the city columns were included in the main apportionment spreadsheet, the amounts entered in the city column would be double-counted when entering amounts in the state column for clients that aren't 100 percent in-state.
