PDF TXT XLSX e-file error

[FILENAME].PDF/TXT/XLSX is included in the transmitted package but is not required by the electronic file.
note
FILENAME is the name of the PDF file that is being attached to the electronic file.
There is a PDF included in the electronic file that is not required, either because of a force or missing data entry.

Solution

  • Make sure there aren't any forms forced to print that aren't required:
    1. Open the
      View
      menu and select
      Diagnostics
      .
    2. Open the
      Overrides
tab if it appears to see if a form is forced to print.
    3. If forms are forced to print that should be included with the electronic file, they'll need to be added as PDF attachments in the Electronic Filing Attachments screen in the Edit menu. Remove any printing forces.
    4. Recreate and retransmit the return.
    5. If no forms are forced to print, move to the next item.
  • Check that each statement dialog has a description and an amount entered:
    1. Check input screens for any statements that have descriptions and no amounts.
    2. If there are rows in statements that have descriptions entered with no amounts, delete those rows out of the statement.
    3. Recreate and retransmit the return.
  • Make sure any PDF attachments have the correct name.
Internal use only
If a user is getting this rejection for a PDF file that is automatically attached, do the following:
  1. Re-create the electronic file and view it in the electronic filing status window to see what PDF attachments are listed in the e-file.
  2. Go to X:\WinCSI\UT[[ut_cy_yy]]Data\$SYSDATA\efiling
  3. Copy and paste the client's e-file (.XEF file) to a different location.
  4. Rename the file and replace the file extension .XEF with .zip
  5. Double click the .zip file and verify the PDF files included.
If the PDFs are listed in the e-file when viewing it but are not included in the e-file, then it is an environmental issue, See TFS871193.
This error used to say File [FILENAME].PDF is in the XML but is not in the zip."
