Create Excel spreadsheet for 706 asset import
UltraTax CS has an Excel Import utility where you can import asset information into a 706 return from a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet. You'll need to use an Excel template we provide and follow some guidelines when entering data.
To get the Microsoft Excel template:
- Open your File Explorer and go toX:WinCSI\UTYYwhere X: is the location UltraTax CS is installed, and YY is the 2-digit year of UltraTax CS you're using for the import.
- Open the most recent706US.ext,YY,V,V#00000...folder, which should have the highest version number in the folder name. You can also use the Date Modified column to determine the most recent.
- Open theuYUSAsset.xls(where Y is the last digit of the year of the program) file.
- Save a copy of the template to a different location, and as a CSV file:
- SelectOfficethenSave As.
- Browse to the location where you want to save the Excel spreadsheet.
- SelectCSV (Comma delimited)(*.csv)from theSave as typefield.
- Enter a new file name in theFile namefield.
- SelectSave.
Once you've created a copy of the template as a CSV file to a different location on your computer, review the guidelines for entering data.
