R0000-029 e-file error

If the Signature Option "PIN Number" is selected (the element "SignatureOption" in the Return Header has a value of "PIN Number") then the following fields must have a value in the Return Header: "PractitionerPIN", "TaxpayerPIN", "Name" of the "Officer", "Title" of the "Officer", "DateSigned" and "PINEnteredBy" Indicator. (rule R0000-029)
The return is missing either PIN information or Officer information.

Solution

  1. Open the
    View
     menu.
  2. Select
    Contributor/Officer
    , then
    Officer Information
    .
  3. Mark the
    Signature Officer
     checkbox for the applicable officer.
  4. Complete the
    Name
     and
    Title
     fields.
  5. Go to the
    Electronic Filing input
     folder.
  6. Check that the following fields are correct:
    • Signature date
    • Taxpayer PIN
    • ERO PIN
  7. If you made any changes, re-create and retransmit the return.
