R0000-922-01 e-file error

Filer's EIN and Name Control in the Return Header must match data in the e-File database, unless "Name Change" or "Name or Address Change" checkbox is checked, if applicable. (value xxxxxxxxx, rule R0000-922-01)
The rejection indicates that the EIN and Name Control combination don’t match IRS records.

Solution

If the organization had an address or name change:
  1. Go to the
    General
     input folder.
  2. Open the
    990
     screen.
  3. Complete either the
    Address change
     or
    Name change
     field.
  4. Re-create and resubmit the electronic file.
If there was not an address change:
  1. Go to the
    General
     input folder.
  2. Open the
    990
     screen.
  3. Check that the
    EIN
     and
    Name
     fields are correct.
  4. If the EIN or name is incorrect, correct it, then re-create and resubmit the electronic file.
  5. If the EIN is correct, go to the
    Electronic Filing
     input folder.
  6. Open the
    ELF
     screen.
  7. Check the
    Name Control
     field to make sure it's correct. You can use the
    Force
    field to enter a different Name Control if necessary.
    note
    If you are unsure of what should be entered, refer to the “Name Control” section of IRS publication 4163 for information regarding guidelines for the Name Control.
  8. Re-create and retransmit the return.
  9. If the issue continues, contact the IRS e-help desk number at 866-255-0654, or file the return on paper.
