R0000-933-02 e-file error

If "Amended Return" or (Superseded for 1120/1120S/1120-F/1041/1065) checkbox is not checked, then taxpayer TIN in the Return Header must not be the same as a TIN of a previously accepted paper return for the return type and tax period indicated in the tax return.
The IRS has already accepted a paper return for the EIN included in the return.

Solution

If this is an amended return:
  1. Go to the
    General
    input folder.
  2. Open the
    990
    screen.
  3. Check that the
    Amended return
    checkbox is marked.
  4. Open the
    Amend
    screen.
  5. Check that the
    Explanation
    statement is completed.
  6. If either field needed to be changed, re-create and transmit the electronic file.
  7. If those fields were completed, contact the IRS e-help desk at 866-255-0654, because a return has already been filed using the same TIN.
If the return is not amended:
  1. Go to the
    General
    input folder.
  2. Open the
    990
    screen.
  3. Check that the
    EIN
    field is correct.
  4. If it's incorrect, correct it, and then re-create and transmit the electronic file.
  5. If the EIN is correct, contact the IRS e-help desk at 866-255-0654, because a return has already been filed using the same TIN.
