R0000-933-02 e-file error
If "Amended Return" or (Superseded for 1120/1120S/1120-F/1041/1065) checkbox is not checked, then taxpayer TIN in the Return Header must not be the same as a TIN of a previously accepted paper return for the return type and tax period indicated in the tax return.
The IRS has already accepted a paper return for the EIN included in the return.
Solution
If this is an amended return:
- Go to theGeneralinput folder.
- Open the990screen.
- Check that theAmended returncheckbox is marked.
- Open theAmendscreen.
- Check that theExplanationstatement is completed.
- If either field needed to be changed, re-create and transmit the electronic file.
- If those fields were completed, contact the IRS e-help desk at 866-255-0654, because a return has already been filed using the same TIN.
If the return is not amended:
- Go to theGeneralinput folder.
- Open the990screen.
- Check that theEINfield is correct.
- If it's incorrect, correct it, and then re-create and transmit the electronic file.
- If the EIN is correct, contact the IRS e-help desk at 866-255-0654, because a return has already been filed using the same TIN.
