Enter fundraising/gaming information for exempt organizations and private foundations
- SelectFile,Open, then choose the client.
- Select theDirectfolder, then select theEvent screen (990E)EventPF screen (990PF)tab.
- Enter an activity description of the event.
- In the General Information section, enter3forFundraising / GaminginType of income.
- To distinguish gaming income in theEvent screen (990E), select a type from theGaming typedropdown list.
- In the Income section on theEvent-2orEven-2PFscreen:
- Enter the non-contribution receipts inGross receipts or sales.
- Enter cash or non-cash contributions inContributions received: Cashand/orContributions received: Noncashfor 990E orContributions receivedfor 990PF.
noteThe contributions here shouldn't be entered in theIncomescreen,IncomePFscreen, or in theContributor Informationwindow.Contributions entered in theEvent-2,Even-2PF,Income, andIncomePFscreens and in theContributor Informationwindow are combined on Page 1 of the return.Contributions entered into theContributor Informationscreen won't be combined on Page 1 of the return if you've marked theExclude Schedule B from incomecheckbox. - In the Directly Related Expenses section, enter expenses directly related to the special event.noteThe fundraising expenses you enter here are reported on Form 990, Part VIII or Form 990-EZ, Part I, where they are subtracted from special event income. Specific data entry for Schedule G (990 only) is available on theEvent-4screen.
