Calculate Schedule M in a 990

Follow these steps to calculate Schedule M in a 990.
  1. In 990 Part IV, line 29 or line 30 need to be answered
    Yes
    for Schedule M to populate. In 990 Part IV, line 29 is an automatic
    Yes
    or
    No
    question based on the amount of non-cash contributions. Question 30 is answered
    Yes
    based on marking
    Received contributions of art, historical treasures, or similar assets
    on the
    Ques
    screen, in the
    Questions
    folder.
  2. When you enter non-cash contributions, enter the
    Type of Property
    .
    note
    There are several places to enter non-cash contributions in a 990 return, but they all have a statement with a
    Type of Property
    column.
  3. For codes 25-28, enter a description in the Schedule M input screen. The description from the non-cash contribution statements isn't used for the description in the Schedule M input screen.

How column (b) is populated

Column (b) is based on the number of entries that use
Type of Property
.
If you have 2 lines of non-cash contributions coded as code 1, then column (b) on Schedule M would show.
