Payments

Total, or
Enter the total current-year estimates if paid equally and on time. This applies equally to all estimated payments to calculate Form K-220. Enter actual amounts of in the
Amount paid
column to override this amount. Once these amounts are entered, the amount in this field is ignored.
Specific payments if unequal or not timely
Enter the date and amount of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th estimated payments. The amounts are automatically treated as timely unless you enter dates in the
Date Paid
fields. Once amounts have been entered in the separate payment fields, the
Total, or
field will be ignored.

Extension

If the federal extension, Form 8868, was not filed, Kansas requires a written explanation attached with the completed return when filed to receive a six-month extension. Enter the reason for extension in the statement in the KSPay screen. This information completes the written application for the extension.
Calculate extension payment
Enter

or leave blank to calculate the extension at 100 percent of the current-year liability using Form K-120V. Enter

to calculate the extension at 90 percent of the current-year liability using Form K-120V. When you select this option, interest is assessed on the remaining 10 percent of the balance due.
Extension contact
If you enter

or leave this field blank the officer name prints on the extension Form K-120V. If you enter
2
the preparer name prints.
Extended due date
If you print an extension by choosing File and then Print Extensions, the extended due date automatically displays in this field. Otherwise, enter the date to use as the extended due date in the filing instructions.
