When you divide an asset, the next available asset number is automatically assigned to the new asset created by the division. Use this window in the asset module to confirm the asset number that is assigned to the new asset or enter a different asset number. Note that you cannot enter the number of an existing asset.
This window opens automatically when you select Divide in the Divide Asset window if you chose to divide by percentage or units.

- To assign the asset number shown to the asset being created, click OK.
- To assign a different number to the asset being created, enter the desired number then click OK.
