Send client data, documents, settings, or updates via email
If your email service supports Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) protocol, follow these steps to send client data, client documents, system settings, product settings, CS Connect updates, or Data Mining reports, letters, or searches to a file that UltraTax CS will attach to an email message. You can also use these steps to check out client data.

If you use an email service that doesn't support MAPI protocol (such as AOL), you can use the
Send to File
command from the File
menu.- SelectFile,Send to, thenEmail Recipientto open theSend to Email Recipientwindow.
- From the dropdown, select the type of item you want to attach to an email message.
- In theAvailablepane, select an item you want to send, then chooseSelectto move it to theSelectedpane.
- Optional:If you want to password-protect the file, enter the password in thePasswordfield and again in theVerifyfield.
- IfClientsis selected in the dropdown on this window, you can mark the"Check out" selected clientscheckbox to indicate that you're taking the client's data home or to another location.
- SelectOKwhen all items are listed in theSelectedpane.UltraTax CS automatically opens an email message and attaches the files you selected. UltraTax CS enters"The file attached to this email contains the following"in the body of the message. A list of the attached items then follows the text. You can edit the text of this message.
- Once you edit the message, enter the email addresses of the recipients and send the message.
