Configure the automatic backup of client data into FileCabinet CS

If you have a license for FileCabinet CS, UltraTax CS can automatically back up client data in FileCabinet CS when you close a return in UltraTax CS or after you proforma client data from the prior-year application. To enable this feature, or to set preferences, follow these steps.
  1. Select
    Setup
    , then
    Office Configuration
    .
    note
    Depending on your security configuration, you might be required to enter the master password and select
    OK
    before you can proceed.
  2. Select the
    FileCabinet CS
    tab.
  3. Mark the
    Automatically back up client data to FileCabinet CS
    checkbox.
  4. Select
    Options
    to verify or change backup options.

    For information about specific fields in this window, select
    F1
    .
  5. Select
    OK
    to close the
    Backup Options
    window, then select
    Done
    to close the
    Office Configuration
    window.

  • As UltraTax CS automatically backs up client data in FileCabinet CS, a
    Data Backup
    folder is created for each drawer's ID in the
    Folder Window
    list.
  • By default, you can store a maximum of 3 backups per client in FileCabinet CS. You can have a maximum of 1 backup per day.
