Edit an engagement letter
Follow these steps to edit an engagement letter.
- SelectSetup,Choose your entity, theFederaltab, thenLetters & Emails.
- Open the engagement letter you want to edit and make your changes.
- SelectDocument, thenSave.
- SelectDocument, thenExit.
- SelectOK.
Print an engagement letter with return or organizer
Follow these steps to print an engagement letter for all clients when printing a return.
- SelectSetup,Choose your entity, theFederaltab, thenOther Return Options.
- Mark thePrint engagement lettercheckbox on either theGeneralor theClient Documentstab.
- SelectOKtwice to close.
Follow these steps to prepare an engagement letter for all clients with the organizer.

Marking these options enables the printing of engagement letters for all clients, but you can suppress it on a client-by-client basis in
Print Options
.- SelectSetup,Choose your entity, then theOrganizertab.
- Mark thePrint engagement lettercheckbox.
- SelectOK.
Print engagement letters using Data Mining
Follow these steps to print engagement letters for a number of clients at 1 time using Data Mining.
- SelectUtilities, thenData Mining.noteIfData Miningisn't available, it hasn't been released for the current year. You can use Data Mining in the previous year of UltraTax CS to print engagement letters.
- Select your entity from theClient databasedropdown, then selectContinue (Step 2).
- SelectLettersfrom the dropdown in the Print selection area.
- SelectEngagement Letter, thenSelect.note1040 clients will haveIndividual Engagement LetterandIndividual Engagement Letter - Next Yearoptions.
- In theSearch namefield, selectAll [entity type] clientsfrom the list (where [entity type] is what you selected in step 2).
- SelectContinue (Step 3)to begin the search. If you have a large number of clients, the search may take a while.
- TheClientstab displays a list of the clients for your selected entity. Unmark any clients as necessary.
- Mark the checkboxes to select where you want to print or send the engagement letters.
- SelectPrint.
