CS Connect: Use a proxy server to download/apply application updates
- Test your connection. To do this, selectCS Connect,Communications Setup, thenTest Connection. If any test fails, continue with the list to correct the connection issue.
- In UltraTax CS, selectCS Connect, thenCommunications Setupand select theProxy Settingsoption. Verify that the address and port listed here match those that are listed in theLAN Settings. To locate theLAN Settingson your computer, enterInternet Optionsin the search field next to the Windows Start button, then selectConnectionsandLAN Settings.
- If you receive a403 Authentications is Invalidor similar error, accessCS Connect,Communications Setup, thenProxy Settings, and unmark theProxy Authenticationcheckbox. This may be an option that you have marked, but don’t need because it is not set up on your proxy server. If you are certain that you use proxy authentication, then you will need to verify your username and password with your network administrator. Or try another username and password (possibly the administrator's).
- Verify thatPorts 80- IP address (167.68.25.183) and443- IP address (167.68.25.115) are open for both inbound and outbound traffic.
- Firewall and Internet Security: Check for any antivirus applications, Norton Internet Security, McAfee Firewall, Spy Ware, or pop up blockers installed. If you have any of these installed, turn them off when trying to use to CS Connect. These applications packages could prohibit a Proxy connection.
