Export reports to file in Data Mining
- Choose which report to export:
- To complete a new search to produce a report including information on clients that pass, selectExport reportin thePrint SelectionandClient Searchwindow, select or create a report, then complete the search.
- To produce an export report that includes information for all clients that passed the last search you completed, selectTools, thenExport Reportin theData Miningwindow.
- In theExport Reportwindow, select the clients for whom you will export a report.
- Select theContinuebutton to open theExportwindow, where you can set export options.
- Select the name of a custom report from theReport layoutdropdown list.noteThe column headings in the selected report will display in the next pane. For the 1040 Individual database only, Data Mining provides several additional report layouts.
- To show the custom report's column headings in the exported file, mark theInclude column headingscheckbox.
- Choose the file format:
- SelectDIFto export data for use with spreadsheet applications.
- SelectASCIIto export data for use with word-processing applications.
- SelectExcelto export data for use with Microsoft Excel.
- UseChange locationif you want to change the file location.
- If you want to change the file name, select the text inName of file to be createdand enter the new name.note
- Data Mining adds the correct file extension to the file name.
- If a file attempts to open in the wrong format after you export it, right-click on the file icon and select theOpen withlink.
- TheExportwindow shows the number of clients available from the search and the name of the most recent search.
