Send client letters by email

You'll need an email application that supports the Messaging Application Programming Interface (MAPI) protocol. For example, Microsoft Outlook, Windows Live Mail, or Microsoft Exchange.
Webmail accounts such as Hotmail and Yahoo don't support a MAPI client interface. If you're unsure, contact your service provider.
  1. Sign in to My Account to open UltraTax CS.
  2. Go to
    Utilities
    , then
    Data Mining
    in UltraTax CS.
  3. Select
    Setup
    ,
    Email greeting
    to view the email greeting and edit it, if needed.
  4. Select and run the search.
  5. Verify the search results and return to the
    Print (Step 3)
    window.
  6. Select
    Email client letters as PDF attachments, if email address is available
    under Electronic Delivery.
  7. Enter the
    Subject of email
    .
  8. On the
    Clients
    tab, clear the checkbox next to any client you don't want to send the letters to.
  9. note
    By default, the letters that you selected before performing the search appear in the
    Reports/Letters
    tab.
  10. To email different letters, select
    Modify
    , the letters you want, then
    Done
    .
    note
    You can't email reports. Reports that appear on the
    Reports/Letters
    tab are printed.
  11. Select
    Email/Print
    .

The client needs an email application that accepts PDF attachments and Adobe Reader installed.
