Turn off data sharing for all UltraTax CS clients
You can use the data sharing in UltraTax CS to share general information (such as names and addresses) and K1 financial data across UltraTax CS federal modules.
By default, UltraTax CS turns on data sharing for all clients. You can take the following steps to turn it off. You can also prevent an individual client's data from being shared.

If you've masked client SSNs by going to
Setup
, Security
, and then marking the Require a password to display SSNs
checkbox on the Security
tab, the data sharing feature is turned off for all UltraTax CS clients.- SelectSetup,Office Configuration, and select theData Sharingtab.
- Clear theAllow use of the data sharing featurecheckbox.
- SelectOKto close theOffice Configurationwindow.note
- To turn on data sharing, repeat these steps but this time mark theAllow use of the Data Sharing featurecheckbox.
- If you turn on data sharing after turning it off, you'll need to rebuild the files. SelectHelp,Repair, thenRebuild Data Sharing. You'll need to do this when no-one is using the application. The process can take some time.
