Error: Unable to start print job when printing
Scenario
You may see this error if client documents contain images.
Unable to start print job.
Solution 1: Printing different types of print jobs
This error may happen if you select the wrong printer for the print job.
If printing a tax return, select a printer in
File
,
Print Returns
, then
Printer
.
If printing mailing labels, select the mailing label you want to print, then select
Printer
.
Solution 2: Printing images
If the image is jpeg format, save the image as a bitmap image.
In UltraTax CS, select
Help
,
Repair
, then
Misc
. Mark the
Render printed images in documents without hardware acceleration
checkbox.
Solution 3: Types of printers
If you only use 1 printer, select
Microsoft Document Image Writer
or
UltraTax CS Spool
. Select
OK
, and then change the printer back to your standard printer. Try printing again. If the error persists, you may have to install a newer version of the printer driver. Contact your Qualified Technician to perform these steps.
If you're printing to a network or local printer, sometimes installing a 2nd version of the driver locally helps. Point to the IP address of your network printer to resolve this error.
