Restore and troubleshoot client data from a CSD File
- Open the CSD file.The software automatically detects and recognizes the data file. TheRestorewindow opens with the client selected.
- If you're prompted to run the attachment, selectRun. If not, go to step 3. If the only available option is to save the file to disk, selectSave. Select the Desktop at the top of the list of folders for easy access. Then, locate the file on the Desktop and double-click on it to restore the client.
- SelectRestore. If the same client exists in your current UltraTax CS data location, a prompt will appear to remind you that you'll replace the existing client data.
- Be sure the correct version of the program is installed, such as UltraTax CS or Fixed Asset CS. For example, if you're restoring a CSD file created using 2019 UltraTax CS, 2019 UltraTax CS must also be installed where the file is being restored.
- Mark theCSLP.exefile to run as an administrator. This file is used to open CSD files.
- Go toX:\WinCSI\Tools, where X represents the drive letter where UltraTax CS or Fixed Assets CS is installed.
- Right-click the CSLP.exe file.
- SelectProperties, then theCompatibilitytab.
- In the Privilege Level section, or the Settings section in Windows 11, mark theRun this program as an administratorcheckbox.
- SelectOK.
- The application can't run as administrator.
- You're not logged into Windows as an administrator.
- The User Account Control (UAC) setting is disabled.
