Error: Runtime error: already installed
Scenario
When retrieving CS Connect updates in UltraTax CS, you may encounter variations of the following error:
Error message
"runtime error:Already installed desktop_setup.ext. YY.Y.Y..." "runtime error:Already installed utwk1.ext YY.Y.Y..." *Where YY.Y.Y... represents the version of the update.
Cause
This error usually comes from a damaged or partial download of the update referenced in the error.
Solution
- Close UltraTax CS and go toX:\WinCSI\UTYY, where X represents the drive letter where you installed UltraTax, and YY represents the year of the application.
- Delete or rename the folder referenced in the error.
- Open UltraTax CS and retrieve your updates.
