Error: SurePrep integration must be enabled before you can continue

Scenario

When you select Tax Automation and SurePrep hasn't been enabled for your firm, you'll receive this error.

SurePrep integration must be enabled before you can continue

Solution

To connect your firm to SurePrep to access the Tax Automation window complete the steps here.
  • In UltraTax CS, go to
    Setup
    then
    System Configuration
    .
  • Select
    SurePrep & SafeSend Integrations
    .
  • Use
    Select Firm ID
    .
  • Choose the SurePrep firm you want to connect to,
  • Select
    Test
    to confirm UltraTax CS can connect to SurePrep,
  • When the test succeeds, select
    OK
    to save and complete the connection,
  • Return to your workflow and select
    Tax Automation
    again. Once connected, the license message will no longer appear when you use Tax Automation.
    note
    • This applies to UltraTax CS (UT25 or later), firms using the Tax Automation button to connect with SurePrep.
    • If you switch firms or disable the integration, the message may reappear until you reconnect.
