Manually delete client, user, fixed asset, and proforma file locks
The following steps should only be done when both of the following are true:
- You can't open a client or proforma due to a network lock.
- No one else has the client open in any year of UltraTax CS or Fixed Assets CS.
You may also want to delete locks from within the program rather than using these steps.
note
The data mining lock is in the same position as the proforma lock.
If you get an error about the file being in use when you try to manually remove these file locks, confirm that the program you're working with is closed and try again. If the error persists and you're unable to determine which program is attached to the file, restart the computer hosting the file to release it.
