Create clients in SurePrep TaxCaddy

Before you can create a client list in TaxCaddy, you'll need to set up integration in UltraTax CS.
You can send your 1040 client list in UltraTax CS to create clients in TaxCaddy.  If you'd like more information on the integration workflow in SurePrep, you can visit SurePrep's Learning Center.

UltraTax doesn't have the ability to designate the office location for each client. It will default to the first office location listed from TaxCaddy. If you are sending over a batch of clients from UltraTax to TaxCaddy and don't want them to be assigned to the first office location, you will need to go into SurePrep, navigate to TaxCaddy, and make changes to the office locations there.
  1. You have 2 options on how to send the client list to TaxCaddy.
    • If you haven't Proforma'd your clients yet, check the
      Create client in TaxCaddy on proforma
      box in the Proforma screen when you're proforma'ing your clients. If you're doing this method, you don't need to complete the remaining steps.
    • If you already have clients in the current year of UltraTax CS, use the integration tool by doing the following.
  2. Go to the
    Utilities
    menu.
  3. Hover over
    SurePrep
    , then select
    Integration
    .
  4. Select or select all the 1040 clients you want to send to TaxCaddy so they move to the other window.
  5. Check the
    Create client in TaxCaddy
    box.

    If you're on Virtual Office or SaaS and UltraTax, you'll also have the option to send 1040 and 1041 client data to SPBinder (if licensed). If you select 1041 clients to send to SPbinder, UltraTax CS will automatically separate the 1041 clients so they are only sent to SPbinder.
  6. Select
    Continue
    , then
    Done
    .
