Proforma federal return without overriding the PPT return

If you've completed the Personal Property Tax (PPT) return and want to proforma the federal and/or state returns without overriding the PPT, complete the following.
Internal use only - additional context for support:
These situations can happen if you're preparing a PPT return for a corporation with a fiscal year end. Say year end is 03/31/23. The 2022 federal return is due by 06/15/23, and will need to be done in UltraTax CS 2022. However the 2023 PPT return is due before that on 04/30/23 and needs to be done in UltraTax CS 2023.
The customer needs to proforma the client from UT 2022 to UT 2023 so the PPT return can be done by 04/30/23. Then the customer can go back to UT22 and complete the 2022 federal return by 06/15/23. Once the federal return is filed, they need to re-proforma the client in order to have the correct federal info, but avoid overwriting the most current PPT info that is already in UT23.
  1. In UltraTax CS, select
    Utilities
    .
  2. Select
    Proforma
    .
  3. Choose the clients you'd like proforma.
  4. Mark the
Re-proforma all returns except certain PPT returns
    checkbox.
  5. Select
    Proforma
    .
This will proforma all returns except the PPT returns that are attached to the client. Any return that you already proforma'd, like the federal or state return, will get deleted and re-proforma'd.
