Transfer assets to the Michigan PPT return

To transfer federal assets to the Michigan Personal Property Tax (PPT) return, do the following.
  1. Select the
    Asset
     tab in the federal activity.
  2. Select the asset, then
    Modify
    .
  3. On the
    Depreciation
     tab, make sure the Book column has data.
    If you don't see the Book column, select
    Setup
    ,
    Treatments
    , then
    Book
    .
  4. If you don't want to use a book treatment, mark the
    Complete return using the MI treatment within the asset module
     field in the MI PPT Gen screen, and enter data in the MI column.
  5. Make sure the
    Situs
     association is Michigan.
  6. Make sure
    Location ID#
    ,
    PPT type-MI
    , and
    City - MI
     have data.
    These fields are usually at the beginning of the Asset window or in the
    Other
     tab. If you don't see them, select
    Setup
    , then
    Associations
     and make sure these fields are marked.
