Screen NIReturn - Nebraska PPT - Return

Overview

Use this screen to enter information specific to each unit. One return is required for each physical location.
note
  • UltraTax / Nebraska PPT prints one copy of Nebraska Personal Property Return for each unit of this screen.
  • If this return has depreciable assets, select the Asset tab in the applicable federal activity and enter PPT information for each asset before you enter data in this screen.
  • You must complete the
    Location
     and
    PPT Type - NE
     fields and enter
    Nebraska
     in the
    Situs
     field for each asset in the Asset Detail dialog for the applicable federal activity for Nebraska Personal Property Return.

Location Information

Use this section to complete location information for Nebraska Personal Property Return that is different from the NIGen Screen.
Unit
UltraTax CS automatically enters the next available number in this field. You can overwrite this number, but you cannot leave this field blank. UltraTax CS uses this information to gather and coordinate information for the assessable business location.
Property location’s street address
UltraTax CS transfers to this field the street address that you entered in the
Location
 field in the Asset Detail dialog. UltraTax CS creates one property tax return for every location entered. In order for the assets in the Asset tab to transfer correctly, you need to go to the Asset tab, select Setup then Associations, and choose Enable. Select
Location
 and then choose the Properties button. Add the street address for each return you would like to create. Once that is complete, go to Edit then Reassign Assets and then assign a
Location
 to the assets.

  • If the return has no depreciable assets, and you have entered
    X
     in the
    Create return, only if no depreciable assets
     field, you may enter the street address in this field.
  • UltraTax CS uses the street address that you enter as the description for this input screen unit in the folders block.

If the return has no depreciable assets, enter

 to have UltraTax CS create a unit of this screen. After you enter
X
, UltraTax CS allows you to enter the street address, which creates a unit of this screen.
County
Select the county from the fieldview.
County ID or Schedule Number
Enter the County ID or schedule number.
Tax district
Enter the tax district.
Precinct or township
Enter the precinct or township.
Property location address / Property location’s city, state, zip code
Enter the property location address and if it differs from the mailing address.

General Information

Use this section to complete general information for Nebraska Personal Property Return for the corresponding unit only.
Business name
Enter the name of the business. If there is no separate business name, the owner’s name prints in the Mailing address field and also appears as the legal name of the taxpayer.
Indicate name to print on return
Select the applicable letter from the fieldview to indicate if this return is filed by the taxpayer, spouse, or jointly. If you leave this field blank, UltraTax CS defaults to the taxpayer.

EIN
Enter the federal employer identification number. If you leave this field blank, UltraTax CS defaults to the federal employer identification number.
Business address: Number and street
Enter the business street address for this location. If you leave this field blank, UltraTax CS defaults to the
Business address: Number and street
 field in the NIGen Screen. If that field in Screen NIGen is blank, UltraTax CS defaults to the federal address.
Business address: City, state, zip code
Enter the business city, state, and zip code for this location. If you leave these fields blank, UltraTax CS defaults to the
Business address: City, state, zip code
 fields in the NIGen Screen. If those fields in the NIGen Screen are blank, UltraTax CS defaults to the federal address.
Telephone number
Enter the taxpayer telephone number. If you leave this field blank, UltraTax CS defaults to the
Telephone number
 field in the NIGen Screen. If that field in the NIGen Screen is blank, UltraTax CS defaults to the federal client telephone number.
Legal description
In the statement dialog, enter the taxpayer’s legal description. If you leave this field blank, UltraTax CS defaults to the
Legal description
 field in the NIGen Screen.
Property type
Enter the property type of the business. If you leave this field blank, UltraTax CS defaults to the
Property type
 field in the NIGen Screen.
Property owner daytime phone number / Property owner title
Enter the property owner’s daytime phone number and title. If you leave this field blank, UltraTax CS defaults to the
Property owner daytime phone number
 and
Property owner title
 fields in the NIGen Screen.
General footnote
In the statement dialog, enter any supplemental information that should be submitted with the return.
