E-File Exists dialog

Use this dialog to re-create an electronic file or to cancel the creation of an electronic file and to control printing when you re-recreate the electronic file or cancel creation of the electronic file. To re-create the electronic file if the return has not yet been transmitted to Thomson Reuters, select the
Recreate the e-file and print
 option.
To cancel re-creation of the electronic file if the return has already been transmitted to Thomson Reuters and an acknowledgment has not yet been issued by the taxing agency, select either the
Cancel both creating the e-file and printing
 option or the
Do not recreate the e-file, but continue printing
 option.
note
If the return has already been transmitted to Thomson Reuters and an accepted or rejected acknowledgment has not yet been issued by the taxing agency, select the
Recreate the e-file and print
 option and transmitting the new electronic file will
not
 overwrite the electronic file that was previously received by Thomson Reuters.&
The E-File Exists dialog opens if you attempt to create an electronic file of a return when an electronic file already exists and the file has been saved for transmission in CS Connect.
note
If you have any clients whose returns have been edited since their electronic file was generated, you will receive the following:
  • A red exclamation mark next to the Electronic Filing section of the Purpose of this call group box on the CS Connect Options tab.
  • A red exclamation mark next to each client affected within the Clients available to transmit pane on the CS Connect Electronic Filing tab.
  • A warning message with a red exclamation mark that one or more clients have been edited since their electronic file was generated. This is listed below the Clients queued to transmit pane on the CS Connect Electronic Filing tab.
We strongly recommended that you re-create the electronic file for all affected clients before you transmit the electronic file. This will clear the above warning messages and ensure that the most current client information is generated within the client's electronic file before the file is transmitted to the taxing agency.

Select this option and then select OK to create a new electronic file for the selected return and to print to any additional selected destinations.
