Use this tab to enable your clients to provide electronic signatures for the following documents.&
- Form 8879, IRS e-file Signature Authorization (1040, 1065, and 1120 only)
- Form 8878, IRS e-file Signature Authorization for Form 4868, Form 2350, or Form 7004 (1040, 1065, and 1120 only)
- FinCEN Form 114a, Record of Authorization to Electronically File FBARs
- Engagement Letter
- Consent to Disclose and Use Tax Information (IRC Section 7216)
- Bank Account Verification

You will incur a fee for each successful completion of eSignatures for all parties.&
To open this tab, choose Setup then Office Configuration and select the eSignature tab.
Fields and buttons
Enable electronic signatures (eSignature) ($)
Mark this checkbox to enable the eSignatures feature for client documents that permit electronic signatures, such as Form 8879 (1040 only), Form 8878 (1040 only), the Engagement Letter, FinCEN Form 114a, Consent to Disclose and Use Tax Information, and Bank Account Verification. You can create the eSignature documents in the Print Returns dialog by choosing File then Print Returns and then transmit the documents to clients via CS Connect.
note
- After marking this checkbox, UltraTax CS will prompt you to accept the Thomson Reuters electronic signature terms and conditions. A similar notification appears when you transmit your first eSignature document via CS Connect.
- If desired, you can suppress the eSignature feature on a per-client basis via Screen eSign in the Electronic Filing folder.
FileCabinet CS / GoFileRoom
If you are licensed for FileCabinet CS or GoFileRoom, you can mark this checkbox to have UltraTax CS store electronically-signed documents in those applications after retrieving the documents from the client via CS Connect.

This checkbox is only visible if you are licensed for FileCabinet CS or GoFileRoom.
Signed eSignature PDF location
Mark this checkbox to have UltraTax CS store the electronically-signed documents in the specified location on your hard drive or network. To modify this location, select the Browse button adjacent to this field, navigate to the desired location, and select OK.

visible if you are licensed for Onvio.Suppress Web Tax Return when creating an eSignature
If you are licensed for NetClient CS, you can mark this checkbox to prevent UltraTax CS from generating and sending the client copy of the web tax return when you create and send eSignature documents to a client via their NetClient CS portal. This setting does not apply to Client Organizer eSignature documents, and is not necessary for extensions or Data Mining documents with eSignatures as they do not transmit to NetClient CS.
