If you want to charge your clients on a per-form or per-item basis, use this dialog to enter the amount that you want to charge for each form. For some forms, the Item Price column is available for you to enter a per-item amount for the form if desired. If you enter both a per-form and a per-item amount, UltraTax CS uses whichever one is greater.
To set firm-wide per-form charges
that apply to all clients of a given entity type: To open this dialog, select the Invoice button and select Pricing in one of the tabs in the Product Information dialog. For example, if you open this dialog via the 1040 Federal tab, you are setting the per-form charges for all 1040 federal clients.
To customize invoice prices for the open client:
To open this dialog, open the desired client, choose View then View/Customize Invoice, and close the preview.

  • If you used the prior-year version of UltraTax CS, the invoice pricing you set up in the prior-year application is automatically set up in the current year version of UltraTax CS.
  • If you chose View then View/Customize Invoice to open this dialog, the dialog displays only those forms present in the current client's return.

Fields & buttons

Find what
Enter text here to search for a specific form in the invoice pricing list.
Find / Next button
Select this button after entering text in the
Find what
field to search for an item in the invoice pricing list. The name of this button changes to Next after you select Find and locate the first instance of the specified search term.
Forms and Prices
To charge on a per-form or per-item basis, mark the checkbox next to each form that you want to charge for and enter the corresponding amount.
For appropriate forms, the Item Price column is available for you to enter a per-item amount for the form. If you enter both a per-form and a per-item amount, UltraTax CS will use whichever one is greater.
note
If you chose View then View/Customize Invoice to open this dialog, the prices you enter apply only to the open client.
Mark/Unmark All button
Select this button to toggle between marking and clearing the checkboxes for all of the forms.
  • After you select the Mark All button, you can enter the amount you want to charge for each form.
  • If you select the Unmark All button, you will clear any prices previously entered.
Increase All button
Select this button to open the Increase Invoice Amounts dialog, which you can use to increase all existing invoice amounts by a percentage or by a specific dollar amount. You can also use this dialog to apply an invoice amount to "No Charge" items and round the invoice amounts to the nearest dollar.

This button is available only if you chose Setup then <Product Name>, select the Invoice button, and choose Pricing to open this dialog.
Reset
Select this button to restore the open client's invoice pricing to the settings entered in the Setup, [Entity], then Invoice Pricing dialog.

This button appears only if you opened a client's return and chose View then View/Customize Invoice to open this dialog.
Print/Preview button
This button appears differently based on how you accessed this dialog.
  • The
    Print
    button is available only if you selected the Invoice Pricing button on a Setup then [Entity] tab to open the Invoice Pricing dialog. Select this button to print a report that lists the forms you have marked and the amount you have entered for each form.
  • The
    Preview
    button is available only if a client's return was open and you chose View then View/Customize Invoice to open this dialog. Select this button to preview the open client's invoice.
