BNA Export dialog

Use the BNA Export dialog to export data from an open UltraTax/1040 client into the Bureau of National Affairs (BNA) Income Tax Planner, version 2016.2 or higher. You can then use the exported data to compare tax information from different years and to plan for the upcoming tax year.
To open this dialog, choose Utilities, Third Party, then BNA (Export). You must be in Input Screen Data Entry or Form View and a 1040 client must be open for the BNA (Export) command to be available.
note
Except for information needed to complete the federal income tax return, such as the amount of state tax refunded and state tax paid, no state information transfers from UltraTax/1040 to BNA.
Limitations
Due to differences in the way that tax data is entered, calculated, and stored in UltraTax CS and in the BNA Income Tax Planner, certain items do not transfer from UltraTax/1040, and others may require modifications in BNA after they transfer.
Fields & buttons
BNA client data location
This field shows the drive and path into which UltraTax CS exports your 1040 client data. Your BNA client data should be located on the same drive and path.

Change Path button
Select this button to open the File Locations dialog and change the drive and/or path into which UltraTax CS will export your 1040 client data.
Export button
When the appropriate drive and path have been selected in the
BNA client data location
field, select this button to export the open UltraTax/1040 client's data into the Bureau of National Affairs (BNA) Income Tax Planner (versions 2016.2 or higher).note
- The bar at the bottom of the dialog shows the progression of the export process.
- If the client already exists in BNA, UltraTax CS prompts you to confirm that you want to overwrite the existing client data.
- UltraTax CS automatically closes this dialog when the export process is complete.
