You can use this dialog either to export custom reports that contain data from the current or most recent search to a file for use with other applications. Search data can be exported either in DIF or Excel format for use with spreadsheet applications or in ASCII format for use with word processing application.
Before you search:
To export a report for the current search, select the
Export report
option in the Print selection group box on the Print Selection and Client Search dialog, complete a search, and then select Continue on the Export Report dialog.
After you search:
To export a report for the most recent search, choose Tools then Export Report from the Data Mining menu, and then select Continue on the Export Report dialog.

Fields & buttons

# clients available from the search
Displays the number of clients who passed the most recent search, as well as the name of the search.
note
You cannot change the name of the search in this dialog. To export data for clients who passed a different search, close this dialog and perform a different search.
Report layout
Displays the standard and custom reports available as layouts for the exported data. From this field, select the report layout in which to display the exported data.
Column headings list
Displays the column headings included in the selected report.
Include column headings
Mark this checkbox to include column heading information in the export file.
Format
DIF:
Select this option to create an export file in DIF format. DIF files can be imported directly into many spreadsheet applications without any further data conversion.
ASCII:
Select this option to create an export file in ASCII format. ASCII files are compatible with most word processing application.
Excel:
Select this option to create an export file in Excel format.

The file extension in the
Name of file to be created
field is automatically updated if you change the format option.
Location of file to be exported
Displays the location in which the export file will be created. Select the Change Location button to select a different file location.
This field is available for any report (except a summary report) for the selected database and only if one or more clients passed the most recent search.

Change Location
Select this button to open the Modify Location dialog, where you can specify a different file location in which to export the file.

This button is available only if you have created a custom report for the selected database, and only if one or more clients passed the most recent search.
Name of file to be created
Enter the filename for the exported data.
note
  • The file name defaults to EXPORT, followed by a .DIF, .ASC, or .XLS file extension, depending on the option selected in the Format group box.

Export
Select this button to export data.
