CS Connect ... Electronic Filing Recall tab

Use the Electronic Filing Recall tab in the CS Connect dialog to attempt to recall electronic files that were previously transmitted to us from UltraTax CS. If the recall is successful, you can correct the error or omission in the return, re-create the electronic file, and transmit the new electronic file.
note
Sending a recall request does not guarantee that the return will be recalled. You must wait for an acknowledgement to determine whether the recall was successful.
Thomson Reuters cannot fulfill a recall request when the return has already been transmitted from Thomson Reuters to the electronic filing service center.

Thomson Reuters does not follow a pre-determined schedule when transmitting returns to service centers. We transmit returns in batches based on electronic filing volume.
To open this tab, choose Utilities then CS Connect and select the Electronic Filing Recall tab.

This tab is available only if:
  • you set the
    Electronic filing: Recall transmitted returns
    switch to Yes in the Options tab in the CS Connect dialog.
  • you previously transmitted an electronic return.
  • you are using the Electronic Filing utility and use Thomson Reuters as your electronic filing transmitter. If you are licensed to use third-party application to transmit UltraTax electronic files, this tab is available only if you marked the
    Use Thomson Reuters as the ELF transmitter
    checkbox in Setup, User Preferences, then Misc tab.

Fields & buttons

Clients available to recall pane
This pane lists those clients whose electronic files were previously transmitted to us and are available for attempted recall. Highlight the clients whose electronic files you want to try to recall, then choose the Select button to move the highlighted clients to the Clients queued to recall pane on the right.

To sort the client listing by client ID, client name, product, or date created, select the words in the title bar of the list pane.
Clients selected to recall pane
This pane lists those clients whose electronic files you have selected for attempted recall during the next Connect session. We will issue acknowledgements via CS Connect to inform you if the attempted recalls were successful.

Focus: Entity types
Mark one or more of the entity type checkboxes to include the corresponding clients in the client list.
Example:
To include only 1040 clients in the list, clear all checkboxes except the
1040
checkbox.

In most dialogs, mark the
Other
checkbox to include 990, 5500, 706, and 709 clients in the list.
Restore user/default focus options button
Select this button to toggle between the most recent custom focus selection and the default selection.
Preparer/reviewer/staff
Select a preparer, reviewer, or staff member from the drop-down list to limit the list to clients whose returns were assigned to a specific person.
Return/extension
Select a specific electronic file type from the drop-down list to limit the list of clients that display.
