File Locks tab

In general, this tab in the Repair dialog should only be used under the direction of CS Support. It is used to clear file locks that are restricting access to a specific UltraTax CS client or screen, or file locks that are keeping a user from starting UltraTax CS.
To open this tab, choose Help then Repair, and select the File Locks tab.
note
Depending on your security configuration, you might be required to enter the master password and select OK before you can open the Repair dialog.

Fields & buttons

Client / Screen / User locks / Checked out clients
  • Select the
    Client locks
    option to list all of the clients currently open in UltraTax CS.
  • Certain screens (such as the Proforma and 1040 Product Information dialogs) can be opened by only one user at a time. Select the
    Screen locks
    option to list all such screens that are currently open in UltraTax CS.
  • Select the
    User locks
    option to list all of the users currently accessing UltraTax CS.
  • Select the
    Checked out clients
    option to list all of the clients whose data is currently checked out.
    note
    • After selecting the appropriate option, highlight the client, screen, or user whose lock you want to delete and select the Delete Lock button.
    • In general, the fields and buttons in this tab should only be used under direction from CS Support.
Client / Screen / User / Checked out clients listing
  • If the Client locks option is selected:
    All of the clients currently open in UltraTax CS are listed.
  • If the Screen locks option is selected:
    Certain screens (such as the Proforma and 1040 Product Information dialogs) can be opened by only one user at a time. If this option is selected, all such screens currently opened in UltraTax CS are listed.
  • If the User locks option is selected:
    All of the users currently accessing UltraTax CS are listed.
  • If the Checked out clients option is selected:
    All of the clients currently checked out of UltraTax CS are listed.

    • After selecting the appropriate option, select the client, screen, or user whose lock you want to delete and select the Delete Lock button.

Delete Lock button
Select this button to delete the network lock for the client, screen, or user highlighted in the list.
